For those of you who've never heard of her, China is the daughter of Jefferson Airplane members Paul Kantner and Grace Slick, and until recently worked as an actress in Hollywood. She started out as the youngest ever VJ on MTV back in 1986, at the tender age of 15, and has been in a few TV series' and films during the mid-1990s. Her biggest success was a major supporting role in "The Evening Star", the sequel to "Terms of Endearment" and a recurring guest spot on "Home Improvement". Recently, she has become disillusioned with the "Hollywood scene" and has now quit acting to return to college. She also occasionally appears on stage with her dad's current band, Jefferson Starship, as a backing singer when they play in the L.A. area, and has co-written a few songs for them in the past.

Received an e-mail from Paul Kantner telling me that China knew about this site and was "appreciative and amused".

November 20th, 2000.
Spoke to Paul Kantner backstage after Jefferson Starship's gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London, where he told me that China had finally seen the print-outs of this site he'd sent her (she's not on-line herself). From what he told me, she liked what she saw and was "quite touched" by the site.

June 27th, 2001.
Received an e-mail from Paul Kantner telling me that China now had access to the internet, had visited this site for herself and was "quite bemused and charmed that somebody would have a site solely for her".

July 12th, 2001.
It's finally happened!!!! Today, after years of hoping and trying, I actually got a message direct from China herself! I know it really is her thanks to a little behind-the-scenes work beforehand by her dad, who tipped me off that she would be contacting me. In her message, she says "I want to thank you very much for paying such great respect to me and my former career by designing a website dedicated to me...I'm not sure why you find me that interesting, but I'm not going to trip on it- I'm just very honored." She's also offered to help me out with bits and pieces of information so that the site "can be as close to the truth as possible." As a result of this latest development, keep your eyes open for some very interesting updates in the near future.
