Biography:
Don Baldwin (often called Donny in many sources, and no-one is really sure which is right) had been a member of the Elvin Bishop Group from 1973-78, where he worked with Mickey Thomas. He joined Jefferson Starship following the departure of Anysley Dunbar immediately after the sessions for Winds of Change, having spent the preceeding years with the Santa Cruz-based Snail. He debuted with the band on the Winds of Change tour, and eventually became the longest-serving drummer in the history of the Jefferson Airplane/Starship family. In addition to his JS duties, he also found time to collaborate with Mickey Thomas on their 1983 solo project, Little Gadget & the Soulful Twilights.
After leaving the band in 1989, he eventually joined the Jerry Garcia band in 1994, and continues with them (now known as the JGB after Jerry's death in 1995) today.
