Biography:
A former member of fellow Bay area band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, David Freiberg was recruited to the ranks of Jefferson Airplane to replace Marty Balin for the bands final few live shows. He then became one of the founder members of Jefferson Starship, later sharing bass and keyboard duties with Pete Sears. Never a prolific songwriter for the band, his departure in early 1985 coincided with that of Paul Kantner. He later participated in a brief QMS reunion.
