Biography:
Founder of Jefferson Airplane, Marty has had an on-off relationship with the band over the years. Absent from the line-up between 1970 and 1974, 1978 and 1985, 1987-88, and 1989-92, he is known as the "love song" writer of the band. His distinctive voice and "fire and ice" relationships with both Paul Kantner and Grace Slick are, to many, what have made the band what it is now. When not recording or touring with JS-TNG, he can often be found touring with his own bands, Wolfpack and The Wild Band.
Trivia:
When he found out that Grace Slick hates singing love songs with the word "baby" in them, Marty deliberately wrote "Miracles", in which she has to sing it over 30 times, just to iritate her! The song soon became one of the band's biggest commercial successes.
