Biography:
One of the original members of Jefferson Airplane and co-founder of Jefferson Starship, Paul Kantner has become legendary for his long, rambling, politico-Sci-Fi epics. Never afraid to be slightly controversial in his lyrics, his songs are the kind that people either absolutely love or totally hate, with very little middle ground. While Marty Balin may have provided the spark which began the Jefferson Airplane/Starship saga, Kantner is seen by many as the carrier of the fire, a man who has never completely lost touch with the true spirit of the 60s. It was his departure from Jefferson Starship in 1984 which prompted the name change to Starship. His Jefferson Starship - The Next Generation continue touring and recording new material to this day.
