Biography:
1972 found Prairie Prince in Phoenix, AZ, where he became the drummer for Red, White & the Blues, who would eventually become the Tubes. Before this happened, however, he took time out to become the original drummer for Journey (Feb - Sept 1973) before being replaced by future Jefferso Starship drummer Aynsley Dunbar. returning to Arizona, he rejoined the embryonic Tubes, staying with them until their break-up in 1985.
In 1992, he joined Jefferson Starship - The Next Generation as their original drummer, and has occupied their drum stool ever since. He also participated in the 1996 Tubes reunion, and spent some time in England during 1997 working with XTC.

Along with ex-Tubes member Michael Cotten, he runs a company which designs sets and costumes for movies, including Batman Forever.
