Biography:
The longest-lasting of all the Airplane's drummers, Jazz-trained and massively experienced, Spencer Dryden is, to many, THE Airplane drummer. Joining the band for their second LP, "Surrealistic Pillow", his tenure lasted until mid-1970 when he quit the band following a backstage row with Balin. He later joined The New Riders Of The Purple Sage, and more recently became involved in The Dinosaurs.
